Barbers Archive Museum Celebrating 175 Years

Whilst celebrating our 175 Year Anniversary in 2024, the Directors have created a Museum in our Market Drayton office to commemorate our wonderful history. The house featured on the front of this article, Eversleigh, belonged to our founder John Barber which is where he started the business selling land and property in the local area of Wellington in 1848.

Richard Heath, our Lettings Director, created the museum due to us having a wonderful archive. We have original ledgers from the early 20th Century and it's interesting to see everything written down, all in the most wonderful handwriting as well.

It's a true snapshot of property history in Shropshire and we are proud to be the current custodians of this historical Company and being able to showcase our history and share it with the community is an honour.

As the company has such depth of history, we believe it brings trust and understanding and going back over the generations, people today, their parents and their family before them will have used Barbers. It can go down the line with three, four, five generations having used us and that carries on. Those values are something which we continue to strive to and ensure that we remain the name that people trust for all their property related matters.

Please call our Market Drayton Office to arrange a visit.
