Barbers & PropertyMark Accreditation - Here to Help You.

Thank you all ARLA Propertymark for the PropertyMark One conference last week - Barbers Estate & Letting Agents are proud to be members and to see so many interesting people and hear the speakers - always good to meet our wonderful suppliers (too many to mention) - fellow agents and old friends - and Gerald Ratner was a highlight.

Directors, Richard Heath, Mark Hares, Chris Martin and Gail Furnival attended along with some members of the Lettings & Property Management Team - this ensures that all your teams at Barbers are up to date with all new legislation and marketing methods for the sale or rental of your most valuable asset.

Propertymark was established in early 2017 with the intention of creating a clear and defined “stamp of approval” in the real estate industry. While the awarding bodies under the umbrella branch of Propertymark had always existed as signs of quality for Estate Agents, it seemed apt to rebrand to increase recognisability. The awarding bodies ARLA (The Association of Residential Lettings Agents) and NAEA (The National Association of Estate Agents) are a regulatory board which ensure that members maintain good standards. As with any professional, it is important to ensure that you are working with someone who adheres to a code of conduct and regulatory rules.

Many sellers, buyer, landlords and tenants are unaware that the property industry is unregulated, effectively meaning that any individual can set up an Estate Agency if they wish. With that in mind, it means that there is a lack of a code of practice, and no guarantee that a client will get the service they deserve.

Propertymark, more specifically the awarding bodies within it, all have standard codes of practice across the board, every estate agent with the Propertymark accreditation offers peace of mind for people who wish to engage in the property market because it ensures you avoid the risk of dealing with potential threats. There are a lot of pitfalls that people can face when entering the property market, and we always ensure that we withhold the highest standards of practice with our service. The Propertymark accreditation is one that recognises this, and one that will help those in the property market approach us safe in the knowledge that this is the case. By choosing a Propertymark registered agent such as Barbers, you can be safe in knowing that you are working with a professional and trustworthy agent that adheres to standards that you’re entitled to.
