Barbers Still Sell Property In Winter

Barbers Still Sell Property In Winter?

As autumn turns into winter, and our minds are filled with Christmas, many potential sellers ask “do I put my home up for sale now or wait until next year?” In some cases this may be true.  Countryside homes with far-reaching views and large gardens may sell better in the spring, however for many others living in less rural areas the market is no longer seasonal.  Internet traffic increases during the winter nights as people spend more time inside their homes due to the dark, damp weather.

Here are just a few reasons why you should consider selling now! We have 1000 active buyers currently looking for property in the Shropshire area across our network of 5 linked offices.  Just because it’s almost winter does not stop serious buyers from ringing us to arrange viewings and make offers. Can you believe 1.6 million people looked on Rightmove between Christmas Day and Boxing Day alone! Barbers own website also experienced higher levels of traffic too, along with increased activity on our Twitter and Facebook pages! More and more people now look to buy when Christmas approaches when they realise their dining rooms are too small or even too big!

There are also more first time buyers wanting to leave home in the winter months.  Reasons can include feeling trapped at home more on winter nights then they do in the summer. Holidays abroad have been taken and New Year resolutions have been made to leave home.  Nigel Tennant, from the Mortgage Advice Bureau, also confirmed that more and more first time buyers are coming in to see him to discuss buying their first home.

Finally, there are less properties for sale in the winter months but this also means less competition for your home.  Take advantage of this and make the most of your homes best features.  A warm, well lit property can appear extremely inviting to buyers and can make them feel like they are at home. We even think our new look offices look even better at night all lit up!

So, can Barbers help you move this winter?  Please ring us to find out more about how property is selling locally.
