The recent Macmillan Coffee Morning, held across our offices on Friday 29th September, was a testament to the power of community and team spirit. This annual event, held with the purpose of raising funds and awareness for those battling cancer, saw us greeting clients old and new, friends, family and local solicitors and other business owners – plus the Highways Team working on Whitchurch High Street.
Each office provided a fabulous display of homemade cakes, tarts and biscuits and our Market Drayton office had a raffle, with a wonderful Made in Shropshire Hamper donated by David Wilson Homes, plus a beautiful fruit cake from Mollys Cakes & Bakes and a super bobble hat from MadMucker, plus lots of other prizes kindly donated to us. We even had a visit from the Town Pirate in Whitchurch who checked the array of treats available and added his usual style to the event.
The “icing on the cake” was the substantial amount we all raised that morning of £522 across the Company plus more online donations. Gail Furnival, our Sales Director at Market Drayton, said she is overwhelmed with all the team’s generosity in helping to promote this event but also the kindness and support from everybody who called into our offices. She said, “raising money for Macmillan Cancer is a cause close to my heart and having seen what they do firsthand means so much helping them to raise essential funds so thank you to everybody involved”.
