Every year countless pieces of crisp packets end up in landfill across the UK. At Barbers, we are working with TerraCycle UK - who are an innovative recycling company and a global leader in typically hard to recycle waste.
We have joined their national recycling programme for collecting crisps packets. This scheme allows us to recycle packets and prevents them from ending up in landfill. TerraCycle credit us with points which we can exchange for donations to a charity of our choice. Any brand of crisp packet is acceptable for the scheme and now they will take the multipack outer layers.
So far we have packaged and sent over 25kg of empty crisp packets which will generate approximately £50 for Severn Hospice, our chosen charity.
There are boxes in all of our offices to deposit crisp packets, please keep collecting them so that we can send another shipment off! Thank you to all of those who have donated so far, the response has been fantastic!
We are also able to recycle Pringles cartons and confectionary wrappers, please keep them all separate though if you do get any.
