Chris Martin MAAT, MARLA
Finance Director

Chris joined Barbers in 2002 after relocating with his family to rural Shropshire from Wiltshire. After managing Barbers accounts team for 7 years, he became Company Secretary in 2009. Chris later headed the property management department and achieved the ARLA qualification whilst in this role. Now as Finance Director his responsibilities are not only financial but include human resources, compliance, anti-money laundering and other statutory requirements.
The favourite part of my job: I enjoy all aspects of my job but particularly interaction with colleagues and our brilliant workforce.

Outside of work: spending time with family & friends I enjoy road cycling, mountain biking and walking. Tried surf boarding, unfortunately legs too wobbly to stay on!

Favourite Holiday Destination has to be Italy, but traveling has always been a passion for my wife & I, it’s always a buzz seeing new places and experiencing different cultures.

Favourite food & drink: not much I don’t like, always up for local dishes in other countries, but anything between two slices of bread is a winner!
Favourite film: Any Sci-fi, but Pride & Prejudice with Kiera Knightley is a firm favourite - I just love a happy ending!
